Gabriela Maria's Christening

Gabriela was baptized on Saturday at the Vigil Mass at St. Joseph's Church on Capitol Hill. Carla and Joe Branco (Jose's sister and brother-in-law) are her godparents. It was a beautiful ceremony and we were so blessed to have our family and friends there to witness her special day. (more baptism pictures)

5 Generations

On Saturday we drove to Catonsville, MD so that Gabriela could meet her great-great-grandmother and her great-aunt. Nanny Blair and Sister Joan were so excited to meet her. Nanny Blair just celebrated her 99th birthday! We are so blessed by her presence in our lives. The rest of the pictures of our visit can be found here.

4 weeks old today!

Gabriela is 4 weeks old today! It's been a whirlwind, but she's happy to be home. Here's our little princess happily sleeping in her bassinet.

Gabriela's first dress!

On Saturday we visited with our dear friend Julia to say good-bye before she leaves for St. Louis. Gabriela wore her first sun-dress for the occasion!

Hello Everyone,

We said we wouldn't do it, but we're doing it anyway. After all, what other way is there for Gabriela's adoring fans to get their dose of her on a regular and quasi-carbon neutral basis?

So there, the Sousas have started a Family Blog. I can't promise we'll post often, but I know we'll do our best to keep you apprised of how Gabriela and her Mommy and Daddy are doing.

Gabriela currently weighs in at 9 lbs. 8 oz. and is getting bigger by the day. She's ready for her Baby Bjorn! (Ah, the things new parents get excited about!)
